Violet WSC purchases treated water from the City of Corpus Christi and as such must abide by all alerts/restrictions as any other customer of the City.  This means Boil Water Alerts, Drought Restrictions, etc.

Violet WSC Drought Contingency Stage 1

June 13, 2018

The combined capacity of Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon Reservoirs has fallen below 50%.  According to the VWSC's revised drought contingency plan Drought Stage 1 voluntary drought measures are now in effect.

*Using your sprinkler once a week.

*Avoid using the sprinkler system to water between 10:00 am     and 6:00 pm.

*Hand watering and drip irrigation are allowed at this time.

*Washing your car? Use a bucket to prevent unnecessary runoff.

*No restrictions for public health and safety.

* You may use water to maintain building foundations-we recommend drip irrigation or hand-held hoses.

*Restaurants - serve water only upon request.

This is an incredible time to grab a sweater and enjoy the majesty of the outdoors. Visit a pumpkin patch or an apple orchard and revel in the bounty of the season. Take a hike and bask in the beauty of the changing colors. Or simply go outside and savor the splendor that’s right there in your front yard. Find a nice seat and enjoy the fresh, invigorating breeze, or get busy working on your garden and your lawn.
